Question: What does “And brought down their strength to the Earth” mean (Isaiah 63:6)?
The whole Chapter is upon the return of Christ Jesus IMO; and shows that He alone will deal with the behaviour and aberrance of (Jordon i.e. Esau etc.) who have been Israel’s enemies; and here are representative of them all!
They in particular have control of the “Temple Mount”, and have given Israel much trouble regarding its history!
Edom is linked with the brother of Jacob (Esau) factually and figuratively; and has feuded with Jacob/Israel since before their birth.
This narrative shows the Risen and returned Lord Jesus, in “Power and great Glory” ; beginning His dealings with the people of Earth, who have remained alive during the “Great Tribulation”, (see Matt. 25:31–46)!
The fact of His dealing with (Esau) early in that process, is due to the history of resistance to Jacob in his progression towards the nation of Israel, and is clearly shown in ancient and current history!
